Trying to tidy the bookcases and I'm just wondering how other people arrange theirs? For fiction it's always alphabetical by authors, comics alphabetical by title and art books are just... in order of size. Just now I'm curious as to how others do it and how it all looks.

I've cut my book display back severely, but it was by category. My favorite books are all in one case. Childhood faves mostly, but also teen series. Arranged from books for younger kids to older teens to adults. Then I've got a Disney case with non-Disney Fairies books first and then all my DF collection. They're there because that's where my Disney dolls are. Then come the Winx dolls, so I switched back into some of my favorite series. After that came all the historical fiction. Then the adult stuff. But most of that is in the process of going into my storage room so I have more space for toys.

If I had a separate library space, I'd do the favorites case, then kids books, tween level and teen level, arranging the series ones first alphabetically by series title, then the rest alpha by author and with a couple separate cases for historical fiction. Then I'd probably arrange adult faves by author. Then the manga alphabetically by title.

Mine are organized by category as much as possible. The books on the shelf for my desk are random bits I couldn't fit elsewhere >>
